Go, Goats! written by Kama Einhorn, rewiewed by Debra Gantz

Summary:  This is a very worthwhile introduction to farm rescue! It is set up as a goat telling the story of the rescue he lives at and how the people running the rescue manage emergencies, vet care, rehabilitation, and the daily management of many animals at their animal sanctuary. There are many fact boxes and short sections explaining laws and routines that allow volunteers in the community to help in situations of abuse, neglect, and rehabilitation of animals. I really loved the story feel of this book and how the readers will be drawn into the sometimes very stressful situations regarding animal care. Einhorn does not shy away from the sometimes sad reality that mistreated animals will not always survive.

I am certain my students will find this a great addition to our nonfiction books about pets!

Straight Talk for Librarians:  Great introduction to the need for farm animal rescue and rehabilitation and the world of animal rescue sanctuaries in general.
