Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry & the Big Hungry Bear written by Don Wood, reviewed by Debra Gantz

Summary:  As a little mouse sets off to pick a red ripe strawberry, the voice of the reader interacts with him. Once telling the mouse about a big hungry bear, the mouse devices solutions to hide, jail, disguise, and further avoid this unseen bear getting the strawberry. The voice ultimately guides the mouse to cut the strawberry in two and share it with the reader to solve this problem.

Straight Talk for Librarians:  This remains one of my favorite books to read aloud! Despite being written in 1984 this book holds up year after year for all students. I am not sure if it is the interactive use of the reader as part of the story. There is nothing found here but sweet interactive storytelling that is perfect for read alouds!
